Conditions we treat
Supportive care for neck pain
Neck pain and the headaches that come with it are among the most common reasons people book. Screens are usually involved, but rarely the whole story.

What it feels like
Symptoms people describe
- Aching at the base of the skull or across the shoulders
- Restricted rotation, particularly checking blind spots when driving
- Headaches that begin at the neck and travel forward
- Pain or tingling running into the arm or hand
- Stiffness that worsens through the working day
Why it happens
Common causes
Desk and screen posture
Sustained forward head position loads the neck and upper back for hours at a time.
Stress and jaw clenching
Tension patterns often show up in the neck and at the base of the skull.
Whiplash and impacts
Road accidents and sports impacts can leave restriction long after the initial pain fades.
Sleep position
An unsuitable pillow can keep an irritated neck irritated.
How we treat it
Our approach
- AssessmentMovement, joint function and a neurological screen where symptoms run into the arm.
- ExplanationWhere the pain is coming from, and why it refers to where you feel it.
- TreatmentGentle adjustment and mobilisation, with dry needling for tight muscle bands where indicated.
- PreventionPractical changes to your desk, screen and sleep setup, plus strengthening for the deep neck muscles.

Questions
Neck pain questions
Can neck problems cause headaches?
Yes. Headaches that begin at the base of the skull and travel forward are frequently driven by the neck and often respond well to treating it.
Is neck adjustment safe?
Assessment comes first, always. Where a neck adjustment is not appropriate we use gentler mobilisation instead.
I was in a car accident, is it too late?
No. Restriction from an old whiplash injury can be assessed and treated long after the initial pain settled.
What can I change at my desk?
Screen height, chair support and how often you move are the three that matter most.
