What we do
Dry needling
Dry needling is performed by skilled, trained physical therapists who are certified in the procedure. It uses no drugs and involves no surgery.

What we do
What happens
A fine needle is used to reach a tight band within the muscle. It is rarely a standalone procedure; it usually forms part of a broader plan alongside manual care and rehabilitation.
What we do
Who performs it
Only a qualified, registered practitioner trained in the procedure. It is not delegated to assistants.
What we do
Afterwards
Temporary muscle soreness is the most common effect and usually settles within a day or two. We suggest drinking water, applying warmth to the area, and avoiding heavy or high-intensity activity for 24 to 48 hours.

Questions
Dry needling questions
Is dry needling the same as acupuncture?
No. Both use needles, and that is where the similarity ends. Dry needling targets knots and tension points within muscle; acupuncture follows the traditional Chinese concept of energy flow.
Does it hurt?
It is generally painless, though a local twitch response can cause brief discomfort. Muscle soreness in the following 24 to 48 hours is common.
Can I exercise afterwards?
Light movement such as walking and stretching is safe and encouraged. We suggest avoiding strenuous activity for 24 to 48 hours.
Is it suitable during pregnancy?
Not during the first trimester. From the second trimester it can be done safely, avoiding certain areas. Tell us you are pregnant when you book.
